Welcome, and congratulations on your acceptance into the Wind Turbine Technician program at the Summerside Waterfront Campus.
You are about to begin a very exciting and busy new chapter of your life! The information provided here is intended to help you prepare for the upcoming semester. Please read through it carefully, and contact us if you have any questions.
For a complete list of important dates, please consult the 2026-2027 Academic Calendar: https://www.hollandcollege.com/student-experience/registrars-office/academic-calendar.html
The program includes an optional 3-week on-the-job training (OJT) placement in March. Additional details about how to participate will be provided in class.
Students should wait until the program begins before purchasing their textbooks from the Waterfront Campus Bookstore.
Students will be required to provide their own work boots, work gloves, safety glasses, and clothing suitable for indoor and outdoor work. Please wait until our orientation before making these purchases.
Some students benefit from using a laptop or tablet, but this is not required-as students have access to desktop computers at our campus.
Welcome to students of the Wind Turbine Technician program! We are glad you choose to enroll in our program and learn how to repair, service and construct industrial wind turbine generators. Historically, employment has been strong out of our program with the majority of our students finding employment as travel technicians. We look forward to meeting you and sharing a fun, rewarding and busy 8-months together! If you have any questions about the program or the wind industry we serve, please connect with us via email. We look forward to meeting you in September!
