McMillan Centre for Community Engagement

The McMillan Centre for Community Engagement is home of the Holland College Hurricanes, our varsity sports teams. A gym membership is included in the fees paid by students registered in programs on the Prince of Wales Campus and the Tourism and Culinary Centre. Other students, employees, alumni, and retirees receive a reduced rate when they purchase a membership. The MCCE also offers reasonable rates to members of the public.

The 9,400 square foot gymnasium has seating capacity for more than 1,000. The floor is marked for basketball, volleyball and badminton courts and is surrounded by a full perimeter indoor walking/running track. The fitness centre includes an assisted pull-up/dip machine, lat pulldown, cable row, lying leg curl, knee extension, pec dec, cable cross over, medicine balls and dumbbells from 5-50 lbs. The cardio and assessment area includes spin bikes, treadmills, erg rowers, ellipticals, 4front & stationary bikes. There's also a fitness studio, the Hurricanes Physiotherapy clinic, and changing rooms with day-use lockers and washrooms.

Fitness Class Poster

We are pleased to offer fitness programming in the McMillan Studio.  Classes are led by a virtual instructor. This is a user-friendly way to get active (go at your own pace, lots of variety, and a virtual instructor offers varying levels of modified options)

Participation is at the participant’s own risk.

Beginning Monday, Sept 15th all MCCE Members will have free access to sign up for fitness classes.  All you need is indoor (never worn outside) footwear!

The weekly class schedule will be as follows:

Mon  12:10pm – 12:50pm Strength Training
Tues 12:10pm – 12:50pm Yoga
Wed 12:10pm – 12:50pm Strength Training
Thurs 12:10pm – 12:50pm Yoga

Classes are FREE for all MCCE members; however, space is limited so participants must sign up to secure their spot.  Sign-up for a class does not open until two days prior to the class.
