You are about to begin a very exciting and busy new chapter of your life! The information provided here is intended to help you prepare for the upcoming semester. Please read through it carefully, and contact us if you have any questions.

Essential Information

Below is the list of required courses for year 1 of your program. To complete your course registration, log in to Self Service. For further information and step-by-step instructions, please visit our course registration guide.

Holland College - Key Dates:

  • First Day of Classes (Fall Semester): September 8, 2026
  • Last Day of Classes (Fall Semester): December 18, 2026
  • First Day of Classes (Winter Semester): January 5, 2027
  • Last Day of Classes (Winter Semester): April 23, 2027
  • February Break (No Classes): February 22-26, 2027

Program Key Dates:

  • Work Integrated Learning (WIL): mid-January to early March
    • In addition to classes, Pathways students complete two WILs in second semester.

Required Books

Semester 1
  • Texts to be confirmed for COMM-1010 and COMP-1000. Be prepared to purchase this online resource in early September. Purchase through the campus eBookstore. No need to purchase before class begins
 
Semester 2
  • No resource purchase required for CREX 1020, CREX 1070 and PROF-1010.
 
There may be resource purchases required for elective courses. Once students determine electives starting in mid-November, you will learn more about resource purchases required.

Required Materials & Tools

No specific materials/tools required for this program.
 
Depending on students' WIL placements in second semester, there may be items required by the host employer. We will help you prepare for this in first semester. No need to purchase anything before the start of the program.

Required Technology

No specific technology is required for Pathways. There is no need to purchase specific technology or devices before the start of the program.

  • What should I bring?
    • Ensure you know or have access to your Holland College username and password on the first day. No specific materials are required during Orientation.
    • You are welcome to bring paper, pen/pencil, and/or laptop/tablet to class.
