Job Description
The Tourism Information Officer will support the promotion and development of ATV tourism throughout Prince Edward Island by providing accurate trail and tourism information, engaging with riders and visitors, supporting outreach initiatives, and assisting with events and promotional activities. The successful candidate will help enhance the overall ATV experience while promoting safe, responsible, and enjoyable trail use across the province.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide front-line support to visitors, riders, members, and the public through in-person interactions, telephone inquiries, email correspondence, and social media channels.
- Promote the PEI ATV trail network, the RidePEI app, and ATV tourism experiences available throughout the province.
- Share information regarding trail access, permits, safety requirements, local attractions, accommodations, restaurants, and other tourism amenities.
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and supporting ATV events, guided rides, tourism initiatives, and community outreach activities.
- Support social media content creation, including photography, videography, and the development of engaging posts highlighting trails, events, and tourism experiences.
- Assist with maintaining and updating tourism materials, maps, brochures, trail information, and promotional resources, including trail mapping and re-mapping projects.
- Collect visitor feedback and assist with tracking tourism trends, visitor statistics, and program data.
- Collaborate with ATV clubs, landowners, tourism operators, government partners, and community stakeholders to support tourism development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, preferably in tourism, recreation, communications, marketing, business, or a related field.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using social media platforms and basic digital tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Interest in outdoor recreation, tourism, trail development, or ATVing is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license is considered an asset.
