Brent Blackmore

Police (Cadet), 1985

Brent began his police career in 1985, when he graduated from the Atlantic Police Academy. Brent accepted a position with the Dartmouth Police Department in October of that year. After serving eight months with the Dartmouth force, he transferred to the Fredericton Police Force in June of 1986. He has worked virtually in all operational units in the force and has had the responsibility for the command of all of the divisions. He continued his upward mobility to assume the responsibility of Incident Commander. Throughout his career, Brent has attended many courses to further his expertise in these fields. Brent has completed his Certificate in Crime Prevention Through Social Development at the University of Cape Breton, Certificate in Police Leadership Law and Justice from Dalhousie University, and is scheduled to graduate from Cape Breton University with a BAC'S degree soon.

Throughout his career, Inspector Blackmore has distinguished himself as a leader and mentor. His commitment to the force and to the community he serves has made him a role model for future generations of leaders in policing.

Brent received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2008.
