Photography, 1988
After graduating from the Photography program in 1988, Alanna apprenticed in all aspects of the photography industry. She established her own business in 1992 and has since developed a wide and loyal clientele. In order to support her growing business and be responsive to the needs of her clients, Alanna established a new graphic design and photography studio in Charlottetown in the spring of 2006.
Alanna’s enthusiasm for photography and promotion of the arts is second to none. For six years running, she donated time to teach photography through her involvement with community school programs at both Glen Stewart and Stone Park schools. In the spring of 2006, Alanna participated in the Art Smart program, working with Grade 3, 5, and 6 students at Elm Street School. Alanna has also spoken about the business and artistic aspects of her career at high schools, as a guest lecturer at Holland College, and at the PEI Photography Club. In order to further encourage students to attend Holland College, Alanna has established a scholarship especially for Photography and Digital Imaging students.
Alanna received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2008.
