DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Holland College is seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Cybersecurity to lead the design and development of curriculum for a new Cybersecurity Post-Graduate Certificate Program.

Reporting to the Program Manager, Business, Sport, and Computer Studies the successful candidate will work closely with Curriculum Services, industry stakeholders, and program advisory committee members to develop innovative, industry-aligned curriculum that prepares graduates for careers in today's rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape. The SME will play a critical role in ensuring program content reflects current industry needs, emerging technologies, and best practices in cybersecurity education. The successful candidate will be responsible to:

• Collaborate with curriculum consultants to design and develop the Cybersecurity Post-Graduate Certificate Program. 
• Create program maps, course outlines, syllabi, assessment rubrics, and course schedules.
• Develop engaging and student-centered learning experiences, and lesson plans. 
• Design and build course shells within the College Learning Management System (LMS). 
• Identify program and course learning outcomes in collaboration with Curriculum Services.
• Select and recommend learning resources, including textbooks, online materials, software, and library acquisitions. 
• Ensure curriculum aligns with Holland College's Essential Quality Standards and industry requirements. 
• Integrate current cybersecurity topics such as: Security Operations Centre (SOC), threat detection and response, vulnerability management, cybersecurity governance, risk management, identity and access management (IAM), multi-factor authentication (MFA), Zero Trust architecture, and cloud security infrastructure.
• Present curriculum proposals and recommendations to various internal and external stakeholders. 
• Participate in program planning, development, and enhancement initiatives. 
• Prepare documentation for Academic Council, Management Executive Committee, and Quality Management processes.
• Maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, industry representatives, and advisory committee members. 
• Participate in professional development and continuous learning activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• A college diploma or bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Network Administration, or a related field. 
• A minimum of three years of recent professional cybersecurity experience. 
• Demonstrated expertise in deploying and managing cybersecurity solutions within business environments. 
• Strong knowledge of: Security Operations Centre (SOC) operations, threat detection and analysis, vulnerability management, cybersecurity governance frameworks, NIST and ISO 27001 frameworks, risk management and accountability principles.
• Exceptional organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
• Experience translating complex technical concepts into engaging and accessible learning content. 
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a project team environment. 
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
