Operations Coordinator- Florence Simmons Performance Hall

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Florence Simmons Performance Hall (FSPH) is seeking an experienced and community-focused Operations Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of the theatre and lounge. Reporting to the Director of Ancillary Services, the Operations Coordinator will lead venue operations, event management, staff supervision, financial administration, marketing, and community engagement while supporting the delivery of high-quality artistic programming and events.  The successful candidate will be responsible to:

  • Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and administration of the theatre and lounge.
  • Manage venue rentals, events, performances, and programming logistics.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee box office operations, ticket sales, and ticketing software administration.
  • Assist with budget development, financial planning, revenue generation, and expense management.
  • Coordinate contracts and operational requirements with artists, clients, technicians, caterers, and other service providers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with artists, patrons, sponsors, donors, community organizations, and funding partners.
  • Support fundraising initiatives, sponsorship opportunities, and grant applications.
  • Develop and implement marketing, social media, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Represent the Florence Simmons Performance Hall at community events and stakeholder meetings.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and initiatives that support the growth and success of the venue.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in event management, venue operations, arts administration, hospitality, or a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including staff supervision, scheduling, and team development.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Financial management experience, including budgeting and revenue oversight.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, event management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of social media marketing and audience engagement strategies.
  • Understanding of theatre production operations, including audiovisual, sound, and lighting systems.
  • Strong customer service, sales, and business development skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for the arts and a commitment to supporting local artists and cultural programming.

Salary:

$29.12 to $36.42
