Industry Liaison Officer - FutureWorks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Holland College is seeking a dynamic and relationship-focused FutureWorks Industry Liaison Officer (ILO) to support the growth of applied research, workforce development, innovation capacity, and industry partnerships across Prince Edward Island. This position is funded through the five-year FutureWorks PEI initiative, a strategic investment designed to strengthen connections between industry, education, and applied research while creating opportunities for students, employers, and communities. 

The Industry Liaison Officer serves as a key connector between Holland College, industry partners, community organizations, funding agencies, educators, and research teams. The successful candidate will help identify partnership opportunities, support applied research projects, facilitate student engagement opportunities, and promote career pathways in priority sectors.  The successful candidate will also be responsible to:

  • Build and maintain relationships with industry, community, government, and funding partners.
  • Identify opportunities for applied research, innovation, and workforce development collaborations.
  • Support the development of new partnerships and strategic initiatives.
  • Connect students with applied research projects, fellowships, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Support collaboration between industry partners, faculty, researchers, and students.
  • Assist with identifying funding opportunities and partnership projects.
  • Promote careers in trades, technology, bioscience, cybersecurity, and other priority sectors.
  • Work with schools, educators, and industry partners to support workforce development initiatives.
  • Participate in outreach and awareness activities that align with labour market needs.
  • Support proposal development, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate events, meetings, and engagement activities.
  • Track partnership outcomes and maintain project documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Public Administration, Education, Communications, Economic Development, Science, Applied Research, Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, business development, research administration, workforce development, education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Prince Edward Island's labour market, industry sectors, and workforce development priorities.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Experience coordinating projects, events, or partnership initiatives.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, develop proposals, and support funding applications.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups

Administrative Officer II as per the Memorandum of Agreement between Holland College and the PEI Union of Public Sector Employees – Administrative and Support.

Salary:

$34.83 - $43.53/hr; 37.5 hrs/wk
