Assistant Accommodations Manager

Continuing full-time position commencing ASAP

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The College is seeking a dynamic, organized and customer service-oriented individual for the position of Assistant Accommodations Manager. Reporting to the Accommodations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:


• Assist the Accommodations Manager with the planning and day-to-day operation of student residences and summer guest accommodations, including key distribution and collection, damage assessments, reporting and billing, maintenance requests, housekeeping oversight, maintenance coordination, and move-in/move-out requests.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, onboard training, scheduling, and supervising cleaning staff, front desk staff, resident assistants, security staff, and seasonal summer employees, as required.
• Ensure accommodation facilities are clean, well maintained, and presented in accordance with established standards and applicable health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Assist with planning accommodation availability and assigning rooms for students and summer guests.
• Help foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for students and guests by promoting social, educational, cultural, and recreational activities and events.
• Conduct tours for prospective students, parents, and summer guests.
• Assist with developing, maintaining, and implementing Residence policies and procedures.
• Maintain statistical, operational, and financial records.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external service providers to support the efficient operation of residence and guest accommodations.
• Respond to and resolve student and guest inquiries, concerns, complaints, and feedback.
• Support the Accommodations Manager with planning and overseeing accommodation reservation systems, front office operations, summer hotel operations, conference services, events, and guest accommodations.
• Provide leadership and guidance to staff by setting performance expectations, monitoring work, and ensuring compliance with Residence policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field, combined with minimum one year of supervisory experience in a hotel, hospitality, or residence environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer applications.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a diverse environment serving students, guests, staff, and other stakeholders.

Employment requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proof of credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post-secondary institutions and/or their foreign equivalents will be required at the time of job offer.
