Marine Navigation Courses

Our navigation courses are offered on a continuous basis and are self-directed study, which allows the student the flexibility to start/end courses at their convenience. The instructors provide study materials, and the students work at their own pace until they are prepared to challenge the exam with Transport Canada. All of the course materials are in PDFs in a shared folder that the student can access from home. For some courses, hard copy materials will also be provided. The instructors are available by email or phone to answer questions or provide guidance as needed (September through June). Students also have the option to study at the Marine Training Centre, where they can use the classrooms and an instructor is available for face-to-face tutoring. If you are unsure which certificate of competency you require, please contact your local Transport Canada Marine Safety Office prior to course registration.
