Volleyball 'Canes taking on Dal AC and STU this weekend

The Holland Hurricanes men’s and women’s volleyball Hurricanes play a combined three Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) regular season matches this weekend.

The women visit the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus (Dal AC) Rams in Truro, Nova Scotia on Saturday at 2pm while the men are in Fredericton, New Brunswick for a pair of games on Saturday and Sunday versus the St. Thomas University (STU) Tommies; Saturday’s game takes place at 6pm with Sunday’s beginning at 1pm.

The women’s Hurricanes enter the weekend at 13-0 this season, leading the ACAA standings while being positioned at number ten in this week’s Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national rankings.  The Rams are 6-7 and currently holding onto the sixth and final playoff spot in the conference.

In one previous matchup this season the ‘Canes were victorious in four-sets; a January 26 match in Charlottetown, PEI at the Holland College Centre for Community Engagement (CCE).

The men’s ‘Canes enter Saturday’s match in a tie for third place in the ACAA alongside the University of New Brunswick-Saint John (UNBSJ) Seawolves at 6-7.  They’ve dropped both previous matches to the 10-1 Tommies in straight-sets this season; first on November 23 and again on January 11, both in Charlottetown.

The Tommies are currently number ten in the CCAA national rankings.

The ‘Canes next home games take place on Saturday, February 15 versus the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons at 4 and 6pm (w/m).

All three games will be available to watch via live stream at www.acaatv.ca.
