The women’s Hurricanes get things started on Friday evening with an important matchup versus the Mount Allison University Mounties in Sackville, New Brunswick at 7pm.
The Mounties (9-1) and Hurricanes (9-0) sit atop the ACAA standings with Mount Allison’s only loss coming at the hands of the ‘Canes on December 3 in Charlottetown, PEI. Following this weekend, the Hurricanes and Mounties will play just one more time this season, on February 1 at the Holland College Centre for Community Engagement.
On Saturday the men’s Hurricanes hit the road to Church Point, Nova Scotia when they visit the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons at 2pm.
The Dragons, 4-5, sit in second in the ACAA standings this season while the ‘Canes are 2-6 and currently in fourth. These teams will meet again on February 15 and 16 in Charlottetown; the Dragons have won the first two meetings versus the ‘Canes, victories on November 2 and 3 at home in five and four sets respectively.
Sunday will see the return of both Hurricanes volleyball teams to the Holland College Centre for Community Engagement in Charlottetown.
The men will kickstart the day with a 12pm match with the University of New Brunswick-Saint John (UNBSJ) Seawolves. UNBSJ is 3-5 this season and in third place.
This is the final meeting between the ‘Canes and Seawolves this season. In four previous matches each team has claimed two victories, the ‘Canes on November 9 and January 18 in Charlottetown, while the Seawolves have taken the matches held in Saint John, NB on November 16 and 17.
The weekend will conclude at 2pm on Sunday when the women’s Hurricanes host the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus (Dal AC) Rams.
The Rams enter the weekend at 4-5 and in fifth place in the standings; this is the first time these teams have met this season.
