The Tourism and Culinary Centre is looking for an organized, dependable, and hard-working individual for our TEAM LEAD – Kitchen Worker position. This position reports to the Facilities Centre Administrator (TCC). The successful candidate will:

• Lead and participate in cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen areas, including glassware, pots/pans, surfaces, walls, equipment, and waste containers
• Ensure all kitchen and work areas always meet required cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Supervise and support kitchen staff, providing clear direction and task assignment during shifts
• Monitor and enforce compliance with WHMIS standards, safety procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment
• Observe operations for potential hazards, take appropriate action, and report concerns to the Facilities Centre Administrator
• Prepare and submit reports outlining activities, issues, and shift updates
• Identify and report maintenance requirements
• Assist with training, onboarding, and performance feedback for staff
• Coordinate workflow and contribute to team efforts to ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks
• Act as a liaison between kitchen staff, chefs, students and dining room staff
• Perform other related duties as required in support of the kitchens

• Completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent is preferred
• Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
• Ability to:
  • effectively communicate (written & verbal)
  • pay attention to details
  • be flexible and cooperative
  • promote a positive work environment
  • perform physical tasks including moderate to heavy lifting
• WHMIS and Serve Safe training would be an asset
• Previous experience in a supervisory role would be an asset
