College signs three new degree pathway agreements

Holland College has signed three new degree pathway agreements, giving graduates of the Business Administration and Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant programs more opportunities to further their education after graduation.

“Degree pathways enable students to receive as much credit as possible for their studies at Holland College, making the transition from one institution to the other easier and more efficient”, said Holland College President Dr. Alexander (Sandy) MacDonald.  “They have become an increasingly popular way for college graduates to further their education.”

Typically, a partner institution will review Holland College’s course of study and award credit based on the program completed at Holland College. This may enable a student to receive up to 60 credit hours or up to two full years towards a specific degree.

An agreement with Acadia University grants Business Administration graduates up to 60 hours of credit, toward a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Graduates must meet the requirements for admission as outlined in the Acadia University calendar.

Business Administration graduates may choose to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Mary’s University in Halifax. Graduates with an overall average of 70 percent who meet SMU's admission requirements may receive up to 60 credit hours toward their degree.

Graduates of the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant program are now able to receive credit toward a Bachelor of Applied Management at the University of New Brunswick – Saint John. Graduates will receive up to 60 credit hours toward the degree.

Holland College has almost 150 degree pathways agreements with post-secondary institutions as close as UPEI and as far away as Australia.
