APPLYING TO HOLLAND COLLEGE

Sometimes the hardest part of pursuing a post-secondary education is choosing a program and putting together all the application information. Don’t worry, we can help. Find out more about our programs, including information on admission requirements, tuition, and fees.

Credit Transfer & Prior Learning and Assessment Recognition (PLAR)

The average Holland College student is 23 years old, and many already have a post-secondary credential or some post-secondary experience. You can receive recognition for that experience through Credit Transfer and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition. Find out more about Credit Transfer and PLAR.

Degree Pathways

Degree pathways such as articulation agreements and credit transfers give you the opportunity to begin your studies at one institution and finish at another. For example, you may decide to obtain a diploma from Holland College and then further your studies at a university.

There are a variety of joint applied degree programs; as well as 2+2 programs, which mean that you can earn your diploma at Holland College and then earn your university degree in as little as two additional years. Find out more about our degree pathways.

Student Supports

If you have a physical or a learning disability the Academic Support team can help you identify the supports you need to be successful in your program.

ASSESSMENT SERVICES

We can help you prepare to study at Holland College with a variety of assessment services

Contact a Recruiter

If you aren't sure what program you would like to apply for, talk to one of our recruiters. They're friendly and helpful, and will be able to help you choose a program that suits your interests.

Applying to live in a residence

If you would like to live in one of the residences on the Prince of Wales Campus, you should apply to live in residence at the same time as you apply to a program. If you are interested in a program at the Atlantic Police Academy, you do not have to apply to live in residence, as it is mandatory.

Information for International Students

If you are an International applicant, take a look at our International pages. You will find information about study permits, international student bursaries, language proficiency requirements, and, for applicants in the United States, US Federal Aid.

Authorization to Exchange information with a Third Party

If you want to allow other people, such as a parent, guardian, or spouse, to access your information or to ask questions on your behalf, fill out this third-party release form (this is a PDF and will open in a new window).

APPLICATION TIMELINE

Our application timeline can help you navigate the admissions process. It’s a month-by-month guide designed to keep you on track and ensure you never miss a deadline.

LET’S GET STARTED!

The application review date for most programs is the last day of February. Some programs are very popular, so it is important to make sure you apply before the application review date and send in all the documents required.

Online application

Use this online application form to apply for all Holland College programs.

Did you miss the February application review date? It’s not too late to apply!

You can still apply after the February application review date. If there are places available in the program, we will consider your application. If the program is full, we will add you to the waiting list in case a place becomes available.

Each program has a list of admission requirements. When you apply for a program, you need to show that you meet all the requirements. You can do this with supporting documents such as certificates and transcripts.

Visit the program page to see a complete list of admission requirements.

Supporting documents demonstrate that you are qualified to study your program of choice and can strengthen your application for a program in high demand.

Upload your supporting documents directly to your Holland College Dashboard.

Some examples of supporting documents are:

High School Transcript

All applicants, even post-secondary graduates, need to upload their official high school transcript.

  • Please upload your high school transcripts directly to your Dashboard. You can upload an unofficial transcript with your application. If we need your official transcript it will be noted on your Dashboard.

  • If you attended a post-secondary institution after high school, we need both your high school transcript and your post-secondary transcript. Entry into many of our programs is competitive and your post-secondary marks can strengthen your application.

  • If you did not graduate from high school and have a GED, send us a copy.

  • Even if you graduated a while ago, we still need your high school transcript. If you cannot obtain it, let us know and we can discuss your options.

Post-Secondary Transcript

If you studied at college or university, you must submit your post-secondary transcript AND your high-school transcript. This may strengthen your application.

Résumé

Your résumé should include details of your work and volunteer experience, any prizes or awards that you have won, any sports you have played and your hobbies. Any information related to the program you are applying to is important to include.

Language Requirements

All Holland College programs are delivered in English. If English is not your first language, you will need to to demonstrate your proficiency in English, regardless of your place of birth or citizenship status. Find out about language requirements.
