Hello and welcome to the Computer Information Systems (CIS) program at Holland College. We are happy you have been accepted and look forward to meeting you. This program is designed to prepare you to enter an innovative IT industry with high demand for skilled problem solvers.
If there are still conditions to be met regarding your acceptance, please contact Admissions to finalize these items. If you are no longer planning to attend the CIS program in September, please notify the Holland College Admissions office, thus allowing us to accommodate someone else on our waiting list.
Have a wonderful summer. We look forward to seeing you in September!
The fall semester starts September 3 with access to your courses. An online orientation session will occur during the first week. Details of the orientation will be emailed to you. Please check your email.
Please refer to the 2024-2025 Academic Year calendar for all important dates, including the start and end dates of each semester, holidays, and the February break.
You should ensure you have the following computer, technology and networking requirements in your home:
The CIS program is ONE diploma program, delivered on two campuses and via distance learning. Our program pages on the Holland College website contain a lot of information and links to help you get ready:
CIS Distance follows the same assignment schedule and curriculum as the on-campus students; however, you do not have a schedule of classes to attend. The CIS programs in the Prince of Wales and the Summerside Waterfront locations use a blended delivery format, which means that most of your courses will have one synchronous virtual class each week that is recorded and available to all students – including Distance students - in our learning management system (SAM). Distance students are welcome to attend those virtual classes in real time as well if your schedule permits.
