Holland College and Capilano University (CapU) have signed a degree pathway agreement that gives graduates from the college’s Business Administration, Marketing and Advertising Management, and Small Business Manager programs the opportunity to receive credit for their Holland College credentials when they continue their studies at the North Vancouver university.
The agreement is the first the college has signed with CapU. The terms of the agreement give graduates of the two-year Business Administration and Marketing and Advertising Management diploma programs 57 and 45 credits respectively toward the 120 credits required to complete a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Graduates from the one-year Small Business Manager certificate program receive 27 credits toward the 60 credits required for a Business Administration diploma or 36 credits toward the bachelor’s degree.
Natalie Mitton, VP Academic and Applied Research at Holland College, said the agreement gives graduates from the three college programs another option if they choose to pursue further education.
“This partnership agreement presents a wonderful opportunity for our graduates to continue their studies at university. Agreements such as this recognize and award credit for the Holland College credentials our students have already achieved, providing a seamless transition into university,” she said.
“Capilano University is pleased to partner with Holland College. This collaboration creates new connections for students and faculty, and exposes students to business and industry opportunities on both the west coast and east coast of Canada,” said Dennis Silvestrone, dean of Business and Professional Studies at Capilano University.
