Students and staff from Holland College’s School of Visual Arts will host the fourth Dotgain conference from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 26. The conference is a professional development opportunity for visual arts students and instructors, as well as for creative professionals in the Maritime region.
The conference, which is a collaboration between the Holland College School of Visual Arts, Creative PEI, and artsUNITE with support from Springboard Atlantic and KKP, will be a virtual event this year.
This year’s theme is "Ripple Effects: How does our own mental and environmental health affect our creative ventures?" How can we use our skills and talents for social good? What type of creative problems will we be solving in the future?
Keynote speakers PJ Stephen, VP of Customer Service for Valtech North America, and Jill Stewart, Founder and Managing Director of Your Life Design Inc., will be webcast live from the Florence Simmons Performance Hall on the Prince of Wales Campus. The event will also include a panel on the hottest new digital trends in the arts and a virtual mixer that combines the fun of a video game with the simplicity of video conferencing.
There is no registration fee for this year’s conference, although donations to the School of Visual Arts Student Fund will be gratefully accepted. The fund supports graduation awards for students in the visual arts programs at Holland College. To register for Dotgain, visit dotgain.ca.
