The Atlantic Police Academy has renewed its Police Science (Cadet) degree pathway agreement with Cape Breton University. The agreement is one of the longest standing degree pathways Holland College has.
Under the terms of the agreement, graduates of the 34-week Police Science (Cadet) program will receive up to 36 credit hours toward a three-year Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies degree. Forrest Spencer, Executive Director of the Atlantic Police Academy, said the renewal of this agreement, and other agreements the academy has signed over the years provide unique career paths for graduates.
"An agreement such as this recognizes the significant academic achievement undertaken by students who have successfully completed the police science program. This flexible degree pathway allows APA graduates the opportunity to continue their self-development by seamlessly transitioning into university in pursuit of their educational goals,” he said.
“We are thrilled to renew this important degree pathway agreement with the Atlantic Police Academy,” says Cape Breton University President and Vice-Chancellor David C. Dingwall. “Agreements of this nature allow students even greater opportunities to further strengthen their academic successes. We look forward to welcoming students from APA.”
In addition to the agreement with Cape Breton University, the Police Science (Cadet) program has degree pathways with UPEI and Charles Sturt University in Australia.
Holland College has more than 90 degree pathways and other post-secondary agreements for graduates.
