College teams with professional association to hold swap

Holland College’s Photography and Digital Imaging program and The Atlantic Chapter of the Professional Photographers of Canada are hosting a swap meet Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Credit Union Café in the Charlottetown Centre.

Photography and Digital Imaging instructor Alex Murchison said the event is something local photographers have been talking about holding for a long time, and thinks it will be of interest to both professional and amateur photographers.

“There are probably quite a lot of lenses, cameras, and other photographic gear gathering dust in closets and attics all across the Island,” he said. “The swap meet will give people the opportunity to check out what’s available, and maybe even pick up a collectible or that one particular item they’ve been searching for.”

Admission will be by donation, with proceeds going to the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry and the PEI Humane Society. For more information, search Facebook for the event PHOTOswap. Buy. Trade. Sell, or go to https://www.facebook.com/events/1534616013500463/.
