Photography student places third in national competition

Holland College Photography and Digital Imaging student Jessie Campbell won third place in the photography category in the Canadian Association of Professional Image Creators’ (CAPIC) Rodeo7 competition recently.

“I found out about it when CAPIC called me in the middle of class one day. It was one of those moments where I just had to stop everything and tell someone. It’s an honour to have my work acknowledged, especially on a national level,” Campbell said.

Rodeo7 is a national student competition open to student members of CAPIC. In addition to a prize of $150, Campbell will attend a gala dinner in Toronto later this month, where her image is in the running for a People’s Choice Award.

Campbell, who hails from Truro, is currently completing her on-the-job training in Toronto.
