Holland College's Marketing and Advertising Management program has been accredited by the Canadian Institute of Marketing (CIM), providing an additional credential to graduates and a professional endorsement of the quality of the program.
In addition to their two-year Marketing and Advertising diploma, graduating students will be granted graduate membership from the CIM, a designation that will provide them with a competitive edge when they enter the workforce
"This is an amazing opportunity not only for the college, but for the students of the Marketing and Advertising Management program," said Karen Scales, program manager. "A stamp of approval from the CIM opens so many doors for our students in the professional world. It is an honour and privilege that they are going to be recognized for the hard work they put in over the course of their program."
The Canadian Institute of Marketing is governed by a council of professional marketers that decides the rules and regulations of fair marketing practices in Canada. It is recognized in Canada and around the world as the authoritative standard-setting body for professional marketers in Canada.
The two-year Marketing and Advertising Management program prepares students for a successful career in marketing with specific courses in market research, advertising, sales and marketing management. Areas of study include direct marketing, nonprofit marketing, consumer behaviour, market research, professional selling and marketing management. Students also gain insight into the main areas of advertising agency operation including layout, creative copy writing, research, media planning, and account management.
