An Educational Joint Venture agreement has been reached between Anyang Normal University, Henan Province, China, and Holland College. The agreement enables the college to jointly deliver the Business Administration and Sports and Leisure Management programs with the university, which is located in Anyang City.

Since 2000, the college has signed a number of Educational Joint Venture agreements with partner colleges and institutes across China. The primary objective of these ventures is to share educational methodology and to create educational and career opportunities for students in China and in Canada. Each three-year program is comprised of a preparatory year with a concentration in English, as well as courses that enable students to acquire a Chinese college diploma. The second and third year are exclusively devoted to the delivery of one of the two-year Holland College diploma programs offered in China. Each program is delivered in English and enables students to earn a Canadian college credential without leaving China. Currently, there are approximately 1,400 students attending Holland College programs in China in the areas of Hotel and Restaurant Management, Business Administration (Business Manager), Marketing & Advertising Management, Accounting Technology, Golf Club Management, and Computer Information Systems programs.

Anyang Normal University was founded in 1908, and has a total of 24,000 full-time students, including 20,000 bachelor program students and 4,000 diploma program students. University President Luo was in Prince Edward Island recently for the signing of the agreement.

"Holland College will be our only Canadian Educational Joint Venture Partner," he said. "We are very pleased to work with Holland College. We also see this as a long term partnership to provide the opportunity for faculty exchange and high quality training for our students."

Holland College President Dr. Brian McMillan agreed.

"We are honoured that Anyang Normal University has become part of the Holland College post-secondary family in China, and look forward to an ongoing relationship with the students and faculty there," he said.

Anyang Normal University became interested in developing a partnership with Holland College on the recommendation of the university's vice president, Yang Xinxin. Ms. Yang was the director of the International Office at Xuchang University, which offers two Holland College programs, before assuming her new role in Anyang.
