Job Description

The City of Summerside is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor. This is a responsible position that will supervise and direct the work of staff that perform maintenance, monitoring, repair, and operation of a tertiary water treatment plant. To be considered for this challenging opportunity candidates must have a combination of education and experience that supply the required abilities and knowledge of machinery and equipment used for the plant operation, the methods and procedures of a wastewater treatment plant, and understanding of provincial regulations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be eligible for a Level 4 Wastewater Treatment Certification from the Province of Prince Edward Island and have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience with demonstrated strong leadership ability. The ideal candidate must possess:

  • The ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to determine and decide upon procedures to be implemented.
  • Maintain and uphold standards.
  • Ability to resolve problems.
  • Possess the ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply regulations, procedures, and related information.
  • Applicants must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and must hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
