PEI School Food Program Inc. is a not-for-profit organization responsible for successfully developing and delivering the school lunch program in Public Schools Branch (PSB) and Commission de Langue Francaise (CSLF) schools. Our mission is to cultivate a healthy and inclusive food culture in Island schools.

Student Opportunity: Social Media Content Creator - Stratford, PE
This student position as Social Media Content Creator, is a Full-time temporary position from May until September 2023, with the possibility of an extension. This position will work with the Operations Manager and be responsible for collecting and creating content for PEI School Food Program Inc.'s social media platforms, which include Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. As well, this position will support with the development of marketing materials in collaboration with a graphic designer. This position will require a creative and outgoing person who is excited about engaging others!

Responsibilities:

Social Media

  • Plan and create engaging digital content to be used across our social media platforms.
  • Develop creative ideas and new innovative ways of delivering digital content.
  • Create a calendar of social media content as part of a plan for 2023/24 school year.
  • Collaborate with a graphic designer to create graphics and attractive designs
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of content with overall strategy and brand identity.
  • Coordinate photo shoots and interviews that will enrich social media content effectiveness.
  • Monitor social media interactions and stats.
  • Set up and manage social media accounts on various platforms.

Marketing Materials

  • Work with a graphic designer to create posters, brochures, banners, and various designs to enhance the program's presence in schools.
  • Source and order promotional items as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:

  • Students in the process of obtaining a diploma or a bachelor's degree in a related discipline, such as Marketing, Communications, etc

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 years' experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, etc.
  • Experience with content creation for social media, including graphic design, videography, photography, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the various social media platforms, trends, and engagement strategies.
  • Exceptional creative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of current computer software, such Microsoft Office, Adobe and/or other graphic design software, as well as social media platforms and their tools.
  • A good previous work and attendance record.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) would be considered an asset.

Other

The PEI School Food Program offers a competitive salary of $20.00 per hour. This position will be Full-time Monday to Friday; 8am to 4pm, from May 1 until September 1, 2023.
