Job Posting: Enhanced Healthcare Security Officer, Charlottetown, PE

Commissionaires NBPEI has been protecting people and property throughout New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island for over 75 years. We are currently recruiting qualified responsible team members to work as Enhanced Healthcare Security Officers in healthcare settings in Charlottetown, PEI.

The Role: The Enhanced Healthcare Security Officers’ mission is to deliver an enhanced level of safety and security within the hospital setting through a combination of empathy, productive customer interactions and by applying established security practices and procedures. Duties will include but not be limited to monitoring of patients in short-stay unit, access control within the Emergency Department setting, escorts and participating in hospital procedures where required. Enhanced Healthcare Security Officers will also work in collaboration with hospital staff to support mutually dependent activities within the hospital setting.

Rate of Pay: $29.00 per hour Benefits: Health, Vision, and Dental Benefits, Life Insurance and AD&D plans Hours: Full time; 24/7, 12-hour shifts (rotations)

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Canada
  • Successful completion of Police Foundations/Corrections Course, Sheriff/Public Safety Officer, or related post-secondary training
  • In lieu of above accreditation, consideration will be given to those who possess a minimum of 5 years of applicable military service and/or previous work experience in a related field
  • Must successfully complete a Physical Ability Requirement Evaluation (PARE) test
  • Successful completion of required training courses
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Clean Criminal Record check (CPIC and VS)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
  • Adhere to hospital confidentiality policies and procedures
  • Competency and comfort with technology
