Job Description

To work as a Food Safety & Quality Team Member within our “A” team.  This is an entry-level position that we’re prepared to provide training for but if you have existing Food Safety experience that’s a serious bonus!

Our number one priority is the safety of our customers. We produce food so customer safety, as well as satisfaction, is always front of mind. We are known for the great taste and high quality of our products and we strive to maintain this reputation.

This newly formed role will include helping the Senior Production Manager and the Food Safety Team maintain and develop a high level of Food Safety and Quality standards. You will play an important role on our team allowing for lots of learning and career development opportunities.

When you’re not helping with Food Safety and Quality you’ll be working alongside our amazing production team making our incredible treats.

This is your opportunity to produce some amazing treats (and have fun doing it!).

  • Chocolate Artistry: Be the member of a team of skilled production talent in the creation of high-quality handmade chocolates, ensuring each piece embodies our tagline “We deliver happiness, one chocolate at a time”.
  • Food Safety: Establish and sustain health and safety and food safety protocols (SOPs) and implement and sustain the Safe Food Canada Act as well as additional certification requirements. Assist in training and the development of team members to comply with our standards.
  • Documentation Matters: You’ll be responsible for documentation and tracking of our Food Safety procedures.
  • Quality Superhero: Always monitoring the quality of what we produce according to our standards. Assist in training and developing team members to reach that standard.

  • You need to be able to consistently demonstrate our core values of Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. Those are non-negotiable but if you’re the right fit this won't be a problem.
  • You’ll need fluent English skills such as reading and writing documents, standards, contracts, and emails. English does not need to be your first language but a very strong ability to communicate and write in English is a requirement.
  • You have a high degree of comfort with technology including a variety of software suites and learning how to master new ones.
  • Due to the responsibility of food production being highly organized and detail-oriented is a must. That’s why we ask you to please include the words “green Cadillac” anywhere in the answers to the application form question below.
  • Due to the responsibilities of this role applicants must be 18+ years of age.

“Nice to haves”, not “need to haves”:

  • Post-secondary education
  • Food Safety experience
  • Experience working in a food production facility that is BRC or SQF certified
  • Experience in chocolate production

The Nitty Gritty:

  • You’ll report to the Senior Production Manager on Food Safety and Quality tasks and the respective Production Manager when producing product.
  • This is a full-time, year-round, Monday – Friday position
  • Wage begins at $17.50 per hour but would be higher based on experience and skill set, particularly in Food Safety
  • While the priority tasks of the role will be surrounding Food Safety and Quality management, time will be spent on the production line with fellow production team members producing our yummy products.
  • Be able to bend and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Have reliable transportation

  • After 6 months you are eligible for our health benefits and RRSP matching programs.
  • Staff discount on all products (yum!)
  • Discounts at our family of businesses including COWS, MOO MOO BBQ Grilled Cheesery, Receiver and more.
  • “I Deliver Happiness Cards” so you can share chocolates with your friends and family, for free!
  • An end-of-season party to celebrate your hard work.
