Job Description

Job Summary: The Food and Beverage Front of House Manager at Mill River Resort is responsible for managing the front-of-house operations of the resort's dining venues, ensuring exceptional guest service and efficient operations. This role involves overseeing the restaurant, bar, and event services while fostering a positive work environment, and delivering a superior dining experience to guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the front of house, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Develop and implement service standards and procedures to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of service and presentation in all front-of-house areas.
  • Detail recent successes and challenges at weekly Management Committee meetings.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise front-of-house staff, ensuring high levels of competency and customer service.
  • Develop weekly staff schedules in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional growth

Guest Experience:

  • Ensure exceptional guest service by addressing and resolving customer complaints and feedback promptly.
  • Implement service improvement initiatives based on guest feedback and industry trends.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with guests, enhancing their overall experience at the resort.

Financial Management:

  • Assist in managing budgets for front-of-house operations, including forecasting, cost control, and revenue enhancement.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to achieve financial goals.
  • Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.

Marketing and Promotions:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute front-of-house promotions, special events, and seasonal menus.
  • Create and implement strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including local, provincial, and federal laws.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment for staff and guests.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in front-of-house management.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience with budget management.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software systems including POS.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs over short distances.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Salary range of $48,000 - $52,000; based on qualifications.
