Job Description

The objective of the Museum Digital Content Assistant is to increase public awareness of the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation (PEIMHF), our seven sites, and our events, programming and products. Examples of our products, events, and programming include: The Island Magazine publication; the hidden island podcast; Education programming; Experiences at our seven museum sites; Exhibitions; Fundraising initiatives; Seasonal ticketed events; Shopify online store.

Duties include:

  • Assist with planning the Foundation's social media calendar for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Research and develop written, graphic and short-form video content for social media posts
  • Acquire archival images and image credits and permissions to accompany social media posts
  • Assist in developing website content
  • Develop content for the Foundation's monthly newsletter

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong written communication a must, including sentence structure, grammar and clarity
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and how to use them effectively
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable and self-motivated
  • Ability to occasionally lift 30 pounds
  • A Criminal Record Check will be necessary on offer of employment
  • The applicant must meet the eligibility criteria defined by the Young Canada Works program
