Job Description

We are building a Dev QA capability in Prince Edward Island to support modern game development through embedded teams. This is not traditional QA or end-of-line testing. This role focuses on working inside development workflows, supporting feature development as it happens rather than testing after completion.

Responsibilities include:

  • working alongside developers, designers, and production teams
  • supporting QA within development cycles (shift-left testing)
  • identifying issues early and thinking in systems, not just bugs
  • assisting with automation efforts (UI, API, backend where applicable)
  • exposure to CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
  • validating live game systems such as events, economies, and player flows
This role is part of building structured Dev QA PODS supporting real game development teams.

Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who:

  • have a strong technical mindset and curiosity for how systems work
  • are interested in development workflows, automation, or scripting
  • are comfortable collaborating in team environments (Agile, standups, etc.)
  • are proactive and willing to ask questions, flag issues, and learn quickly

Bonus experience includes:

  • Unity or Unreal Engine
  • scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • understanding of live games, events, or player systems
  • exposure to APIs, backend systems, or automation tools
  • Game industry experience is a plus, but not required for the right candidate.

Other

PEI-based candidates preferred. Flexible hours available depending on availability. This role is designed for individuals who want to grow into modern Dev QA and work directly with game development teams.

**Contract is ongoing; end date not confirmed at this time
