Job Description

AGRI STUDENT - SUMMER 2024 Location - Charlottetown, PE

Cavendish Agri Services supports farmers in growing healthy and productive crops. We have 8 manufacturing/retail locations serving Atlantic Canada. Our primary products include fertilizers, crop protectants, seed, farm supplies and technical expertise. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting both sales and operations, providing a variety of work throughout the summer. This could include acting as a liaison between the customers, visiting growers, and supporting production. This is a summer position that is ideal for a student studying agriculture. The position starts in April and finishes the end of August.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting with deliveries of agricultural products.
• Supporting sales staff with customer visits and requests.
• Take soils samples and send out results to growers.
• Field work such as soil sampling, tissue sampling and crop scouting.
• Facilitate on-farm research trials with various products.
• Day to day office duties and administrative responsibilities.
• Support production including assisting with customer orders.
• Cultivate positive relationships with customers in the farming community.
• Represent the company in a positive and professional manner.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in post secondary education
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Experience in a farming environment is an asset
• Experience in customer service or sales is an asset
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
