Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our team at our Charlottetown; PEI office located at 20 Great George Street. The ideal candidate will share our core values of honesty, professionalism, proactivity, and a strong desire for continuous growth.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and perform various account reconciliations
  • Record monthly bank entries and complete bank reconciliations
  • Post and reconcile monthly rent and prepare A/R reports
  • Prepare monthly revenue and expense reports
  • Assist with yearly budgeting across commercial properties
  • Complete annual common area maintenance reconciliations
  • Calculate and remit HST for multiple entities
  • Monitor property tax bills, and ensure timely payment
  • Respond to external inquiries related to property taxes
  • Monitor and process tenant billbacks (monthly, annually, or as required)
  • Input and update financial & lease data for new and existing tenants
  • Communicate with residential and commercial tenants regarding financial matters
  • Maintain accurate ERP data entry
  • Support team members and assist with projects as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Previous accounting experience considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Positive, collaborative attitude
