The Holland Hurricanes are set to play their final games before the 2022 holiday break this Saturday and Sunday. The basketball and volleyball ‘Canes are set to host the Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) Mystics at the McMillan Centre in Charlottetown while the women’s hockey Hurricanes will be in Cape Breton to take on the Cape Breton University (CBU) Capers.
Women’s Basketball
It will be a battle for first place in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) on Saturday at 2pm at the McMillan Centre between the Hurricanes and Mystics; both teams enter the weekend at 6-1 and in a tie for first place.
The ‘Canes enter on a hot streak, having won their last five games (at Crandall, at UNBSJ, UNBSJ, Crandall and Mount Allison) while the Mystics have won their last three (at Crandall, STU and Mount Allison). The only loss for the Mystics this season has come at the hands of the St. Thomas University (STU) Tommies.
These two teams faced off once already this season, on October 30 in Halifax, where the Mystics went on to earn the victory, 94-77.
This is the final game for the Hurricanes before they return in the new year to play the Crandall University Chargers on January 13 at 6pm in Charlottetown.

Men’s Basketball
The Hurricanes will look to enter the holidays as the only undefeated team in the ACAA, but first they will have to take on the MSVU Mystics this Saturday afternoon at 4pm at the McMillan Centre in Charlottetown.
Seven straight wins to start the season over Crandall (twice), UNBSJ (twice), Mount Alison, MSVU and UKC has them at 7-0 and atop the ACAA standings; the Mystics are 4-3 and tied for third.
The ‘Canes defeated the Mystics on October 30 in Halifax, 104-90, in the only other matchup between these two teams so far this season.
The Mystics enter the game having lost their last matchup versus the Crandall Chargers.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Hurricanes at home; they will return to action on January 13 versus Crandall at 8pm.

The ‘Canes are in second in the standings at 0-1-1 after an opening weekend tie (1-1) and loss (2-1) against the Acadia University Axewomen last Saturday and Sunday at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown.
The Capers are 0-2-0 after starting their season off with losses of 6-2 and 3-0, both against Acadia on November 12 and 13 in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.
These are the final regular season games of 2022 for the Hurricanes; they’ll return to action on January 28 and 29 when they host CBU in Charlottetown at the Eastlink Centre.

This is the first time the Hurricanes and Mystics have met this season.
