Hockey ‘Canes set to begin season on road versus CBU

The women’s hockey Hurricanes are on the road this weekend to begin their 2021-22 Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) regular season.  The team is in Sydney, Nova Scotia to take on the Cape Breton University (CBU) Capers for two games.  The teams will first square off on Saturday night at 7pm before the rematch on Sunday at 10:30am; both games take place at the Membertou Arena.

This is the first regular season game for the Hurricanes since the 2020 ACHA Championship hosted by the ‘Canes where they lost to the Capers in the finals, 3-1, on March 8, 2020.

The Capers enter the weekend at 0-2-0 after dropping their first two season opening games in Wolfville, Nova Scotia last weekend at the hands of the Acadia University Axewomen.  The Axewomen were victorious by scores of 8-3 and 3-0.

The ‘Canes will host their home opening games on December 4 at 7pm and December 5 at 11:15am at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown versus the Axewomen.
