The Holland Hurricanes men’s and women’s volleyball teams are in action this weekend in Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) regular season play.  The men are on the road in New Brunswick facing the University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ) Seawolves with first-serve scheduled for 6pm on Saturday and noon on Sunday.  While the women’s Hurricanes are at home on Sunday to host the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus (Dal AC) Rams at 12:30pm at the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement (MCCE).

The men’s Hurricanes enter the weekend at 1-3 this season and in third place in the conference, while the Seawolves are 0-4 and in fourth.  Both are chasing the top-ranked St. Thomas University (STU) Tommies who are 4-0, and the 3-1 Université de Sainte-Anne (USTA) Dragons.

This is the first time the Seawolves and Hurricanes have met this season.  The ‘Canes single victory so far this season came on November 13 in five-sets versus the USTA Dragons, while their three losses came at the hands of the Tommies (November 6 and 7) and Dragons (November 14).

The men’s Hurricanes next home game takes place on December 4 when they host the Dragons at 8pm.

The women’s Hurricanes, hosts of the 2022 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championship this March, have gotten off to a blistering start to the 2021-22 season.  They are currently 6-0 and meeting the Dal AC Rams for the first time this season.

The Rams enter the weekend at 3-2 and in a four-way tie for second place.

Fans are encouraged to support the Hurricanes this weekend at the MCCE for a weekend of Hurricanes Athletics.  The basketball Hurricanes host the STU Tommies on Saturday at 3pm and 5pm (women/men), and following the women’s volleyball match at 12:30pm on Sunday, is the women’s basketball ‘Canes at 2:30pm, with the men to follow at 4:30pm.  Both basketball games on Sunday feature the ‘Canes hosting the UNBSJ Seawolves.
