The Holland Hurricanes men’s football team return to the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall on Saturday afternoon to host the University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ) Seawolves, kickoff is scheduled for 1pm.
The Hurricanes enter the weekend at 1-3 and in third place in Atlantic Football League (AFL) regular season play, while the Seawolves are 0-4 and in fourth. The ‘Canes defeated the Seawolves in their previous meeting, 43-0, in Saint John, New Brunswick on October 3.
Tyler Hobbs, ‘Canes captain, and defensive end, from Sackville, Nova Scotia, knows this weekend’s game is important in the fight for third in the standings.
“Entering week five the team is learning and improving each game and practice. This week we need to simplify the game and win each snap. If we win every series, we can win the game.”
Hobbs was the Hurricanes defensive player of the week, alongside Brian Fitzgerald, who was named the offensive and special teams’ player of the week for week four.
The Hurricanes are pleased to announce that more fans will be welcomed to the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall starting this Saturday. The increased capacity allows for double the number of fans able to enjoy Hurricanes football than previously allowed, but a PEI Vax Pass and government issued ID must be presented upon entry.
Saturday’s game will also be live streamed at www.hollandhurricanes.com.
