'Canes eyeing strong 2021-22 with impressive recruits

As the return of collegiate athletics draws near, let’s take a look at seven fresh faces that will wear the Hurricanes uniforms in 2021-2022.

 

Grace Bennett | Women’s Basketball

From Goulds, St. John’s in Newfoundland, Grace Bennett makes her way to Holland College after studying at Memorial University.  Bennett brings a strong presence on both sides of the ball and will be relied on by the ‘Canes in a leadership role with her university experience.

 

Cassie Gallant | Women’s Soccer

From Summerside, PEI, and studying in the Practical Nursing program, Cassie Gallant joins the collegiate ranks after an impressive provincial career on PEI.  The 5’8” midfielder is a versatile player that brings a positive attitude and work ethic to the ‘Canes roster.

 

Reese Kelly | Women’s Soccer

From Charlottetown, PEI, and studying in the Sport and Recreation Management program, Reese Kelly brings her speed and high soccer IQ to the ‘Canes roster this fall.  Through her experience with the Vancouver Whitecaps program, look for Kelly to be a force for the ‘Canes this season.

 

Jenna O’Neill | Women’s Volleyball

From Cornwall, PEI, and studying Kinesiology, Jenna O’Neill begins her collegiate volleyball career with the Hurricanes this fall.  O’Neill is described as a versatile player that can adapt well to several positions on the court. As a former Canes Volleyball Academy player, she’s ready to make the jump to the varsity team.

 

Keanna Ryan | Women’s Soccer

From Charlottetown, PEI, and studying in the Bioscience Technology program, Keanna Ryan makes her collegiate debut after completing her provincial career on PEI.  The 5’10” midfielder is strong on the ball and easy to coach, highly competitive and motivated.

 

Myah Utrosa | Women’s Volleyball

From Brooklyn, Ontario, and studying in the Medical Support Services program, Myah Utrosa, a 6’ middle, heads east to help the ‘Canes prepare to host the 2022 CCAA National Championship.  She is known for her energy, dedication and coachability.

 

Dylan Worth | Men’s Baseball

From Charlottetown, PEI, and studying in the Business Administration program, Dylan Worth joins the Hurricanes eyeing an Atlantic Championship.  The middle infielder is recognized for his reliable fielding and consistent at-bats.
