The Hurricanes are set for a busy stretch of soccer, volleyball and basketball play over the coming days; here’s a look into all of the action.
Soccer
The women’s soccer Hurricanes are in Toronto, Ontario this week for the 2021 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championship hosted by the Humber College Hawks.
The ‘Canes began the tournament by facing the number one ranked team in the country, the Vanier College Cheetahs, dropping the match, 7-0. The Hurricanes will now face the Fanshawe College Falcons (London, Ontario) on Thursday at 11am Atlantic in the bronze medal quarter-finals. The Falcons also fell on Wednesday, by a score of 7-1 versus the Capilano University Blues.

Volleyball



The women’s volleyball Hurricanes continue their Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) regular season on Friday night when they welcome the Crandall University Chargers to the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement (MCCE) at 7pm. The ‘Canes are 4-0 and leading the conference standings, while the Chargers are 0-4.
The action continues on Saturday, when both the men’s and women’s Hurricanes travel to Church Point, Nova Scotia to visit the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons (USTA). The USTA women’s team are 1-2 and tied for sixth in the conference. The women’s game begins at 6pm.
The men’s Hurricanes, 0-2, are looking for their first win of the season against the 2-0 Dragons. First serve is scheduled for 4pm on Saturday.
The men will continue their weekend play on Sunday versus the Dragons at 12pm.
The next men’s volleyball home game at the MCCE is scheduled for Saturday, December 4 versus the Dragons at 8pm.

Basketball

The men’s and women’s Hurricanes are in Saint John, New Brunswick on Saturday for a pair of games against the University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ) Seawolves. The women tip-off at 2pm followed by the men at 4pm.
The women’s Hurricanes are 1-1 early in the ACAA regular season, having dropped their season opening matchup with the Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) Mystics, before defeating the Crandall University Chargers last Saturday. The Seawolves enter at 0-2.
The Hurricanes men are 2-0 and leading the conference standings, while the Seawolves are 0-2.
The ‘Canes next basketball home games are scheduled for Saturday, November 20 versus the St. Thomas University (STU) Tommies at the MCCE at 3pm and 5pm (women/men).
