As a student at Holland College in the early 90s, Jeff did his on-the-job training in the aerospace industry, and he loved it so much that he never left. Thirty years lated, Jeff has had an incredibly successful career, now hold the position of Vice-President and General Manager of StandardAero-Atlantic.
In December 2022, Jeff suffered a life-changing tragic accident that almost cost him his life, and he has spent every day since fighting to regain movement. Nearly a year later, Jeff continues his battle, remains positive, and has some wisdom to share.
Arnold Bagnall purchased his Holland College grad ring when he completed the Electronics program at the age of 19 in 1974. Fast forward several decades, a couple of cross-provincial moves, and a few career shifts later, and Arnold's ring was nowhere to be found. Now 70 years of age, Arnold believes the last time he saw his ring was 15 or more years ago.
On a warm day in late August of this year, the alumni office received a phone call from Mark MacLeod, a grad of the Aquaculture program, letting us know he had found a Holland College ring buried in the ground while working in the Kensington area. The ring was solid gold with a peridot gemstone and had the year 1974 and the initials AB inscribed on it. When staff in the alumni office went through the list of all '74 grads, they determined that Arnold Bagnall could be the only possible owner of the ring.
The alumni office connected Mark and Arnold and the two met so that Mark could hand the ring back to its rightful owner. Arnold couldn't believe what he was hearing when Mark told him what he had found, and was shocked to be reunited with the Holland College grad ring he hadn't seen in many years.
