STUDENTS NOT IN P.E.I. FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER WHO ARE REQUIRED TO COME TO P.E.I. BECAUSE THEIR PROGRAM IS BEING DELIVERED IN A BLENDED FORMAT STARTING JANUARY 2021

The following information is for those students who are not in currently in P.E.I. and whose programs are being delivered in a blended format for the second semester starting in January 2021. Please read all the information below very carefully. To confirm your program delivery method visit this page.

Students who are currently living outside of the Province of Prince Edward Island must follow the steps below in order to be authorized to enter the province. We strongly recommend that you not finalize your travel plans until you have received your pre-travel approval from the Province of Prince Edward Island.

NOTE: If you are unable to provide the Province of Prince Edward Island with a 14-day self-isolation plan that meets the requirements, you may be housed in a provincially approved self-isolation location. If this is the case, you must make sure that you arrive in Prince Edward Island no later than January 4, 2021.

HOW TO OBTAIN PRE-TRAVEL APPROVAL

To apply for pre-travel approval follow these steps:

  1. If you haven’t already done so, you MUST complete the Holland College Pre-Travel Approval form. When you have submitted the form, you will receive a Letter of Permission to Attend via email from Holland College. You will be REQUIRED to provide a copy of this letter as part of your pre-travel approval application to the Province of P.E.I. (step 2). A copy of the Letter of Permission to Attend will also be required upon entry in to the province.
  2. You MUST complete the Province of Prince Edward Island’s Pre-Travel Approval Form as soon as you receive your Letter of Permission to Attend from Holland College. Details on how to complete the form and further information regarding entering P.E.I. can be found here.

When you arrive in Prince Edward Island you MUST travel directly to your pre-planned self-isolation location. Only students who indicated on the Holland College online Pre-Travel Approval Form that they require the government arranged self-isolation location will receive more information regarding this plan.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

You MUST follow the steps outlined above.

You must also ensure that you are eligible to re-enter Canada and are exempt from any federal travel restrictions. You are responsible for ensuring that you are eligible to re-enter Prince Edward Island prior to leaving the province, and that you are eligible to re-enter Canada when you return. Please do not leave Prince Edward Island unless you are certain that you meet all requirements outlined by the Government of Canada.

If you are not eligible to enter Canada prior to your program start date, please inform us as soon as possible.

HOW TO DETERMINE IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER CANADA

This Government of Canada webpage outlines who is eligible to enter Canada. Visit the page often, as some of these restrictions could change daily, weekly, or monthly. Holland College is a Designated Learning Institute (DLI ) with a COVID-19 readiness plan that has been approved by IRCC and the Province of Prince Edward Island to receive international students who have approved study permits and are required to be on campus in order to continue in their program.

Only students with a fully approved study permit will be eligible to enter Canada.

NOTE: If you do not follow the provincial and federal government pre-travel approval guidelines you will not be able to travel to Canada or to Prince Edward Island, and you may not be able to attend Holland College classes this winter.
