Small Water Systems

Course Section: CEENG-SWSW

Description

The Small Water Systems course is designed for those looking to become certified operators of small water systems on Prince Edward Island.  Small water systems are defined as water systems that service between 20 and 150 connections. In accordance with provincial regulations, all small water systems need to be registered, have obtained a facilities classification certificate, and have operators who are certified to operate, service and maintain these systems.

This workshop is designed to meet the training requirements for small water facility operators and will provide operators the background information and training on “need-to-know” criteria for operating their treatment systems.

Private housing or cottage developments with a water piping system that services between 20 and 150 homes or cottages are considered to be small water systems and must have a small water system operator. All campgrounds on PEI with a water piping system are considered a small water system and must have a small water system operator in charge of the system.
