Introduction to the National Building Code of Canada

Description

This course will examine the National Building Code of Canada with particular emphasis on the design and construction of small buildings. Participants will be given an overview of the entire code including definitions, health and safety requirements and design tables used for the design of structural members, fire rated partitions and sound control. A detailed analysis of part nine of the code will be conducted covering all aspects of small building construction including foundations, building envelope, interior layout and design, windows and doors, vapour transmission and insulation, heating/air conditioning/ventilation and environmental requirements.
