How many students will be in my class?
Each year the program accepts approximately 30 new students representing a wide range of demographics.
Where is the program located?
The Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management program is based in the Tourism and Culinary Centre of Holland College, located on the beautiful Charlottetown waterfront at 4 Sydney Street. About 350 students are enrolled in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Tourism, Travel and Event Management, Marketing and Advertising Management, Project Management, and Data Analytics at the Tourism and Culinary Centre.
What is a typical class day like?
Academic Component
Students have approximately 20 50-minute classes a week between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
Practical Component
Throughout all semesters, students work in a simulated industry environment for a variety of hours during the day or evening of the school week. Students will be provided with a schedule in advance so they may plan accordingly.

Employment
The Tourism & Culinary Centre welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, with varying ages and levels of work experience, all of whom have unique aspirations and expectations. Upon completion of the program, graduates can pursue a wide range of rewarding career opportunities. They will acquire the necessary skills, attitudes, and behaviours to thrive in the hospitality industry. The areas of employment available to them encompass leadership roles in hotel and resort operations, restaurants, front office and guest services, housekeeping, food and beverage, and sales and marketing, among others. Overall, the hospitality industry seeks dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals who hold themselves to high standards and are passionate about delivering exceptional service.

If you would like to continue your educational journey, Holland College offers several degree pathways for graduates from the Tourism, Travel and Event Management programs.
Degree pathways are formal agreements between Holland College and partner universities and colleges which give graduates as much as two years of credit toward a degree. Holland College has degree pathway agreements with universities and colleges across Canada, the U.S., and overseas.
Holland College also offers micro-credentials.
