Holland College receives United Way award

Holland College students and employees earned the college a prestigious Platinum Donor Leadership Award for their fundraising efforts during the United Way’s local charitable giving campaign.

The Platinum Donor Leadership Award is presented to organizations for generating more than $10,000 in donations. Last year, Holland College employees and students raised $21,539 in donations through a variety of activities. Holland College President Dr. Brian McMillan said the college community can always be counted on to pull together to help others.

“Holland College has 12 campuses and centres across Prince Edward Island. Our students and staff are integral to the fabric of our province, living and working in communities across the Island,” he said. “I thank all of them for their hard work, especially campaign co-chairs Jennifer Redmond and Kim Gallant.”

"We are very grateful for the partner we have in Holland College. Each year students, staff and administration team-up to run a fantastic campaign donating personally, volunteering and hosting a variety of unique special events and fundraising activities." - United Way CEO Andrea MacDonald.

The United Way of Prince Edward Island collaborates with partners on issues concerning the overall well-being of the Island community. Their mandate is to bring resources together to support local non-profit organizations, help them fund local programs, work with them to build sector strength while collaborating with local leaders and stakeholders to address the pressing needs of Islanders.
