After dashing through the virtual streets of Monte Carlo for last week’s Cracked Device Co. Monaco Grand Prix, the drivers will head just over two hours west to Circuit Paul Ricard for the Lone Oak Brewing Co. French Grand Prix, the fourth stop in the Canadian eMotorsports Network Formula 1 Series season.
The live broadcast will begin tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST with the pre-race show, which will also include live qualifying beginning at 7:40 p.m. EST, followed immediately by the race itself.
So far, the series has produced three different winners over three races, with Corbin MacAulay taking a dominant victory in his Hurricanes eMotorsports Honda last week in Monaco, finishing 32.898 seconds ahead of second-place Ryan Gibson in his I-B-PRO-FUN Motorsport Toyota, with third-place Mark Cox of MCRaceLab being the only other driver to finish on the lead lap.
Following a seventh-place finish last week, North Border Racing’s Zach Sullivan has a three-point lead over Ares Racing driver Darcy Ford in the drivers’ standings, while MacAulay propelled himself up to third in the standings with his win.
On the constructors’ side of things, North Border Racing continues to lead with 65 points, while Alpha Flow, the only team with double-points finishes in every race so far this season, climbed to second in the standings, 17 points back.
The 5.842-km, 15-turn circuit’s distinguishing feature is the Mistral Straight, a two-part straightaway on the back side of the circuit measuring 1.8 km, split by a tight left-right chicane about two-thirds of the way down the straight. The first part of the Mistral straight is one of two DRS zones on the circuit, the other being the start-finish straight.
Here is a look at the standings after round three.
