Bailey dominates at Chuck’s Roadhouse 110 at The Glen

Scott Bailey (Michigan, USA, Midwest Elite E-Racing) claimed his fourth race of the season on Tuesday at Watkins Glen International when he won the Chuck’s Roadhouse London Highbury 110.  This was the 12th of 14 regular season races this season.

Starting third, Bailey quickly made his way to the front of the field, winning the first and second stages along the way.

Rounding out the top five finishers was Mike Marini (Ontario, Canada, True North Racin’), Jonathan Peaden (Florida, USA, Kobra Kai Racing), Lee Campbell (New York, USA, Team !Hazzah!) and Darcy Ford (PEI, Canada, Atlantic Motorsports).

The 45-lap race around the 2.45-mile road-course saw many different strategies in play with fuel and tire wear.  Several top drivers also got caught up in traffic resulting in poor finishes.

With the victory, Bailey extends his lead atop the driver standings.  With just two regular season races remaining, the fight for the final playoff spots has heated up.

The top-ten drivers all have clinched their playoff position, the 11th and 12th place drivers are sitting comfortably, and even the 13th and 14th place drivers are looking good to qualify for the post-season.  All eyes are on the drivers from 15th through 20th, only separated by 35-points.

Jason Butler (Ontario, Canada, 519 E-Racing) is currently safe by 11-points, while Andy Hertel (Ohio, USA, 519 E-Racing) sits in the final playoff spot with a six-point cushion.  Kevin Daigle (Ontario, Canada, True North Racin’) is the first driver on the outside in 17th, while Lee Campbell trails by 12-points, Trevor Kinsey (Michigan, USA, Team !Hazzah!) is 20-points back and Chase Beaty (Tennessee, USA, North Star Racing) is 30-points back.

The 13th regular season race for 2021 is the Fix Auto Charlottetown 250 at the Darlington Raceway on May 4, 2021.  It is also the series throwback race, where drivers will drive paint schemes of their choice from days-gone-by.  The final regular season race is the Cracked Device Co. 200 at the Daytona International Speedway on May 11.
