Description
This course is designed to provide serving law enforcement and peace officers the necessary training to be Certified Officer Safety and Use of Force Instructors. This course will cover the latest developments, techniques, and teaching methods, including ground control tactics, safe and effective handcuffing techniques, and current strategies involving knowledge of Critical Intervention & De-Escalation.

Additional Information

Prerequisites:

• Must be an active member in good standing with approval from training manager or equivalent from a recognized federal or provincial law enforcement department or organization, the Canadian Armed Forces and or a provincially approved organization.
• Must have successfully completed the APA Use of Force course, IMIM or the National Use of Force Model training (NUFF) at an accredited and recognized training facility
• Successfully completed and current in Use of Force, Police Service Act, including agency policies
