About Our Counselling Team


Jill Sabean

PRINCE OF WALES CAMPUS (TUESDAY, THURSDAY), TOURISM AND CULINARY CENTRE (MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY)

Jill came to Holland College with over 12 years of experience working in the field of mental health and addictions. Jill graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Honours) and from the University of New Brunswick with a Masters of Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Jill is a certified counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Jill is a client-centred therapist who has clinical skills suited to a wide range of problems. She has the ability to empathize and connect with clients from any background. She utilizes talk therapy and cognitive-behavioural techniques and provides a strength-based, self-care approach to help clients on their journey to improved mental health.

Kate Robertson

PRINCE OF WALES CAMPUS (MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY), SUMMERSIDE WATERFRONT CAMPUS (TUESDAY, THURSDAY)

Kate graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. After university, she took Holland College’s Child and Youth Worker program to gain practical experience. Kate Moved to Ottawa for three years and worked at group homes, the Ottawa- Carleton Public School Board and Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre.

Kate returned to the Maritimes to complete her master’s in counselling at Acadia University. Kate worked at Mount Allison University until October 2018, when she decided to move back to the Island. She also worked at the PEI Rape and Sexual Assault Centre for over a year.

Kate is a certified counselling psychotherapist with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, and a member of the PEI Counselling Association. Her practice is client-centered, trauma-informed, and goal-directed.
