Hobbs, a third-year player from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, is a defensive lineman studying in the Sport and Leisure Management program at Holland College.
He recorded a sack and twelve tackles in Saturday’s season opener in Fredericton, NB versus the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Red Bombers.
Kaye-Mitchell, a second-year player from Toronto, Ontario, is a wide receiver studying in the Sport and Leisure Management program at Holland College. He also serves as the team’s kicker and punter.
On Saturday versus UNB, Kaye-Mitchell made five receptions for a total of 110 yards. He also made a 30-yard field goal in the second quarter to give the Hurricanes the early lead in the game.
The Hurricanes ultimately lost their season opener on Saturday by a score of 28-17 to the Red Bombers. They return to the field this Saturday, September 21 when they host their home opener versus the University of New Brunswick-Saint John (UNBSJ) Seawolves at 1pm at Alumni Canada Games Place in Charlottetown.
The UNBSJ Seawolves also sit at 0-1 this season, losing their home opener over the weekend to the Dalhousie Tigers by a score of 31-14.
